Community integrations

Community integrations connect a Gatoll group to where your community actually lives — a Telegram group or a Discord server. Once linked, you unlock three things:

Community Gates — token-gate your Loots by real membership: in my Telegram group, in my Discord server, or holds a specific Discord role.
Automatic announcements — every new Loot you drop in the group is announced to your community by the Gatoll bot, with the requirements and a claim link. No copy-pasting.
Activity scoring — chat in your community earns quality-filtered activity points, powering a public activity board, an activity Gate, and contribution-weighted reward splits.

Linking takes about a minute and happens inside your own community — no IDs, tokens, or config files.

Linking a Telegram group

Only the group owner can link, from group settings → Community connections:

Tap Link on the Telegram row. Use the Add bot button to add the Gatoll bot to your Telegram group, then promote it to admin — admin rights are what let the bot verify members later.
Copy the one-time command shown (it looks like /gatoll_link ab12…) and send it in your Telegram group.

The bot confirms in the group, and the settings page flips to Linked within a few seconds.

Only an admin of the Telegram group can complete the link — the one-time code proves you own the Gatoll group, and the admin check proves you run the community. Both sides are verified, so a leaked command can’t hijack anything.

Want to add the bot ahead of time? Use this link, pick your group, then promote the bot to admin: Add the Gatoll bot to Telegram. Adding the bot alone doesn’t link anything — you still need to run the one-time command from group settings.

Linking a Discord server

Same place, Discord row:

Tap Link, then Invite bot to add the Gatoll bot to your server (skip if it is already there). The bot only asks for permission to send messages.
Run the one-time command (/gatoll link code:…) in your server. You need the Manage Server permission.

One detail worth knowing: Loot announcements go to the channel where you ran the command. Run it in your #announcements channel if that is where you want drops to land.

Community Gates

With a community linked, four new Gates become available under the Community category:

Telegram member — the participant must be in your linked Telegram group.
Discord member — the participant must be in your linked Discord server. Optionally require a minimum membership age (e.g. member for 7+ days) to keep out accounts that only joined for the drop.
Discord role — the participant must hold a specific role in your server. This is the power tool for community ops: your existing role system — level-bot roles, OG, contributor — becomes claim eligibility, as is.
Community activity — the participant must have earned a minimum number of activity points in your community over a recent window, e.g. 100+ points in the last 30 days. Presence is cheap; this Gate prices in contribution.

All of them are checked live at claim time. Leave the group, lose the role, go quiet — eligibility reflects it immediately. No stale snapshots.

For participants the flow is smooth: if their Telegram or Discord isn’t connected to Gatoll yet, the Gate walks them through connecting it, then verifies membership in one tap.

Announcements

When you drop a Loot in a linked group, the bot posts:

the Loot title,
the requirements (the same Gate summary shown on the Loot page),
the claim link.

Announcements are best-effort — if the bot is rate-limited or removed, your Loot still goes live as usual.

Managing the link

One-to-one — a Telegram group or Discord server can be linked to one Gatoll group at a time, and each Gatoll group links at most one community per platform. This keeps membership and activity data unambiguous.
Relinking — if the bot gets removed from your community, the settings page shows Link broken. Re-run the two-step flow to restore it; your Gates start working again without any changes.
Switching communities — link a different Telegram group or Discord server anytime. Community Gates follow the link automatically — no need to edit existing Loots. Activity points start from zero in the new community; scores earned elsewhere don’t carry over.
Unlinking — removes the connection; community Gates on your Loots stop passing, announcements stop, and the activity tally is cleared.

Activity scoring

With a community linked, Gatoll keeps a live pulse of who actually contributes:

Every counted message earns 15–25 activity points, and when someone reacts to a message, its author picks up a small bonus.
Not everything counts. Spam and shill patterns are filtered out, and so are forwards, near-duplicate messages, and rapid-fire flooding (at most one counted message per minute per member). Fresh joiners earn at half rate for their first 24 hours — aping in right before a drop shouldn’t pay like showing up every day.
No message content is stored. Gatoll keeps daily per-member counters, nothing else.

The Activity board on your group page shows the daily trend (Telegram and Discord side by side), top members, and totals. It is visible to the whole group on purpose — a public leaderboard is its own engagement loop.

Owners can tune the economics — points per message, reaction bonus, cooldown — under group settings → Activity scoring. The anti-spam filters and the newcomer damper are always on and not configurable, so the numbers stay honest.

The activity Gate

Add a Community activity Gate to a Loot to require real participation, e.g. 100+ points in the last 30 days. Points from Telegram and Discord add up. Check your Activity board first to calibrate the threshold — a regular chatter lands roughly 15–25 points per counted message.

Contribution-weighted rewards

Activity data can also drive the split itself: for a Custom Loot, allocate the pool across members pro-rata by activity points, review the list, and load it as the Loot’s whitelist — so the biggest contributors take the biggest share. A self-serve allocation console is on the roadmap; the data is already yours today.
